ICCGB CODE OF CONDUCT
Italian Cane Corso Club GB (ICCGB)
1. Purpose
This Code of Conduct sets out the standards of behaviour expected of all members, breeders, and representatives of the Italian Cane Corso Club GB (ICCGB).
The purpose of this Code is to ensure that all individuals associated with the Club act in a manner that supports the welfare, integrity, and responsible development of the Cane Corso within the United Kingdom.
2. Scope
This Code applies to:
- All ICCGB members
- Committee members and appointed representatives
- Breeders operating within ICCGB frameworks
- Individuals participating in ICCGB activities or events
3. General Principles
All individuals associated with ICCGB are expected to:
- Act with honesty, integrity, and professionalism
- Conduct themselves in a manner that reflects positively on the breed and the Club
- Support the welfare and wellbeing of all dogs
- Promote responsible ownership and ethical breeding practices
- Engage respectfully with other members, organisations, and the wider public
4. Welfare and Responsibility
Members must:
- Ensure the health, welfare, and appropriate care of all dogs in their ownership or control
- Provide suitable living conditions, nutrition, exercise, and veterinary care
- Avoid any practices that may compromise the physical or behavioural wellbeing of the dog
- Promote responsible ownership and informed decision-making
5. Breeding Conduct
Breeders operating within ICCGB are expected to:
- Prioritise health, temperament, and breed integrity in all breeding decisions
- Undertake appropriate health testing where recommended
- Breed only from dogs of sound temperament and suitable condition
- Maintain accurate and transparent records relating to breeding and lineage
- Represent puppies and dogs honestly and accurately
Breeding practices must reflect a responsible and ethical approach, with consideration for the long-term development of the breed.
6. Professional Conduct
All members must:
- Treat others with respect, fairness, and professionalism
- Avoid behaviour that may bring the Club or the breed into disrepute
- Refrain from harassment, discrimination, or abusive conduct
- Engage constructively in discussions and activities
Public conduct, including online behaviour, must reflect the standards expected of ICCGB members.
7. Representation of the Club
Members and representatives must:
- Represent ICCGB accurately and responsibly
- Avoid making unauthorised statements on behalf of the Club
- Ensure that any public communications relating to the Club are appropriate and factual
Committee members and appointed representatives have a duty to uphold and promote the Club’s standards at all times.
8. Compliance and Data Protection
Members must:
- Respect the confidentiality of Club information where applicable
- Handle personal data responsibly and in accordance with applicable laws
- Avoid unauthorised access, use, or distribution of Club data
Any misuse of data or breach of confidentiality will be treated seriously.
9. Conflicts of Interest
Members must:
- Declare any conflicts of interest that may affect their involvement with the Club
- Act in a manner that prioritises the interests of the Club and the breed
- Avoid situations where personal interests conflict with responsibilities to ICCGB
10. Breach of Conduct
Failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct may result in action being taken by ICCGB.
This may include:
- Formal warning
- Suspension of membership
- Removal from committee or appointed position
- Termination of membership
All matters will be considered fairly and proportionately in accordance with Club procedures.
11. Complaints and Review
ICCGB operates a structured process for addressing complaints and concerns.
- Complaints will be reviewed by the committee or appointed representatives
- Decisions will be made based on available evidence and in line with Club standards
- Where appropriate, individuals will be given the opportunity to respond

By becoming a member of ICCGB, individuals agree to:
