Italian Cane Corso Club GB (ICCGB)

 

Constitution

1. Name

The name of the Club shall be Italian Cane Corso Club GB (ICCGB).

2. Objectives

The objectives of the Club are:

  • To promote the preservation, welfare, and responsible development of the Cane Corso in the United Kingdom
  • To encourage responsible ownership and ethical breeding practices
  • To support education, health awareness, and best practice
  • To maintain and uphold standards that safeguard the long-term integrity of the breed

3. Governance

The Club shall be governed by a Committee elected or appointed in accordance with this Constitution.

The Committee shall be responsible for the management of the Club and for ensuring that its objectives are upheld.

4. Committee Structure

The Committee shall consist of:

  • Chair
  • Vice Chair
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Additional Committee Members as required

The Committee shall have the authority to co-opt members where necessary.

5. Duties of Officers

  • Chair: Oversees the running of the Club and ensures governance is upheld
  • Vice Chair: Supports the Chair and assumes duties in their absence
  • Secretary: Manages administration and communication
  • Treasurer: Responsible for financial management and record keeping

6. Membership

Membership shall be open to individuals who support the objectives of the Club.

The Committee reserves the right to:

  • Accept or refuse applications
  • Suspend or terminate membership where standards are not upheld

All members must adhere to the Club’s Code of Conduct.

7. Meetings

Annual General Meeting (AGM)

An AGM shall be held annually to:

  • Present reports
  • Review Club activities
  • Conduct elections where required

Special General Meeting (SGM)

An SGM may be called by the Committee or upon request of members.

Committee Meetings

Committee meetings shall be held as required.

8. Voting

  • Decisions shall be made by majority vote
  • The Chair shall have a casting vote in the event of a tie
  • Voting procedures shall be determined by the Committee

9. Quorum

  • A quorum for Committee meetings shall be 50% of Committee members
  • A quorum for General Meetings shall be determined by the Committee and communicated in advance

No business shall be conducted without a quorum.

10. Finance

  • All funds shall be held in the name of the Club
  • Financial transactions shall require a minimum of two authorised signatories
  • Proper accounts shall be maintained and reviewed annually

11. Code of Conduct and Discipline

All members must adhere to the ICCGB Code of Conduct.

The Committee may take disciplinary action where conduct is deemed detrimental to the Club or the breed.

Actions may include:

  • Warning
  • Suspension
  • Termination of membership

All matters shall be handled fairly and proportionately.

12. Data Protection

The Club shall operate in accordance with applicable data protection legislation.

Personal data shall be handled responsibly and securely.

13. Amendments to the Constitution

The Constitution may be amended:

  • By majority vote at a General Meeting
  • With prior notice given to members

14. Dissolution

In the event of the Club being dissolved:

  • A General Meeting shall be called
  • All liabilities shall be discharged
  • Remaining assets shall not be distributed to members
  • A record of accounts and asset distribution shall be maintained

15. Kennel Club Recognition

The Club recognises the authority of The Kennel Club in matters relating to canine governance within the United Kingdom.

The Club shall operate in accordance with Kennel Club rules and best practice where applicable.
